About Margie

For years, Margie Odom, M.Ed., LMFT, was a yo-yo dieter herself. She desperately wanted to find a diet that helped her achieve her ideal weight and stay there. She tried it all, so when nothing worked, she knew she had to dig deeper if she wanted a lasting change in her life. It was then that she realized to keep the physical weight off, she needed to come to grips with the weight that she carried within. Margie has learned how to process the emotional struggles she carried within and has developed a whole new outlook on what true self-care looks like.

By doing her own work and finally making sense of her own emotional eating patterns, Margie has been able to help hundreds of clients free themselves from the weight within and start living their best lives.

Thanks to her book, The Weight Within: Healing Emotional Eating from the Inside Out, and her coaching programs she has been able to help hundreds of clients free themselves from the weight within and start living their best lives.

As a therapist, emotional eating coach, consultant, and speaker, Margie uses her experience and years of training to help clients end their battle with emotional eating. Her coaching programs transform lives from a stuck position to ultimately being freed from the cycle of yo-yo dieting. Her approach to healing emotional eating has expanded from serving therapy clients in her private practice to coaching clients and speaking to groups internationally.

Margie earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Emory University, completed her master’s degree in counseling at the University of Georgia, and completed her coursework in Marriage and Family Therapy at Western Kentucky University. Known for her honesty, humor, and passion for learning, Margie’s emotional eating clients benefit from her personal success and deep desire to share her creative programs with others. Her mission is to help as many people as possible break free from emotional eating and live the life they were meant to live.
Margie lives with her husband and two children in Louisville, Kentucky. She loves learning and training whenever possible, being outdoors, and spending time with family. Margie’s greatest passion is travel, and she pursues opportunities to explore new places whenever her schedule allows.
